Trinity Royal Heritage Conservation Area/The Loyalist Trail

20 Sydney Street

A historic district in uptown Saint John, the Trinity Royal Heritage Conservation Area is a 10-block area you can explore on the Loyalist Trail walking tour. The 90-minute self-guided circuit retraces the footsteps of Saint John’s founders—British Loyalists who arrived in May 1783, having fled the American Revolution. The trail starts at the Old County Courthouse, known for its stone spiral staircase, and encompasses other highlights including the Loyalist House and Trinity Church, completed in 1880.
