Maybe it’s the long winters or the need to provide a joyful welcome home for returning sailors. Whatever the reason, the bright, candy-colored wooden row houses of downtown St. John’s seem to be everywhere, lighting up every step through the city’s streets. The fad for painting the wooden Victorian buildings like a box of jelly beans is relatively recent, dating from efforts to renovate the downtown in the 1970s. Now, the city looks pretty sweet and the Jellybean Row Shop & Gallery is the perfect place to create a rainbow of memories.
