If you want to get a sense of the Falklands’ natural environment, make a visit to Gypsy Cove. Whether you’re a photographer, nature enthusiast, amateur biologist, bird-watcher or simply someone who enjoys wildlife, you’ll find no shortage of animal activity here. In addition to Magellanic penguins, you’ll likely see dolphins and sea lions, perhaps even a southern elephant seal—the world’s largest pinniped. While walking along the beach at Gypsy Cove, keep your eyes peeled for fossils, distinctive Falkland pebbles and semiprecious stones. If the weather is cold, you can duck into the snack shop for a coffee or hot chocolate.
