Craft beer is hard to find in China’s Pearl River Delta. But Standing Goose Brewery is standing strong as a pioneer in the microbrew industry here. Small-batch beers include Lazy Guy’s Black Beauty Stout, Brewers & Union Helles, Brew Dog Punk IPA, Kentucky Ale, Dead Pony Club, 5am Saint, and dozens more. They also make tasty cocktails and mocktails. As a gastropub, Standing Goose offers a small, carefully curated food menu. Favorites include the grilled Thanksgiving sandwich with roasted turkey, tomato, arugula, and Gouda on brioche, and the flat sombrero pizza, with marinara sauce, mozzarella, sliced chicken, avocado, and basil.
