Not having ever been to an open-air food market before, the first time I went to the Shekou “Wet” Market, the place disgusted and amazed me. They sell fresh seafood and meat, live poultry, fresh vegetables and herbs, and dried spices and nuts. There are also many street food vendors, restaurants, and other small shops nearby. If you can stomach the sights and smells of this place, you’ll definitely find better prices than you would at the supermarket, and it’s surprising how much better the produce looks here.
