Here’s another touristy place, but great for the kids- and adults too, if you love ocean creatures! There’s an underwater shark exhibit, huge jellyfish exhibit, narwhals, sea otters, animal shows, penguins, roller coasters and more. I’d never seen a walrus before up close and dang, those things are huge! This place is a little pricey to go often, so we only go if visitors who stay with us want to check it out. But it’s definitely worth seeing at least once!

Experience dolphins up close and personal in San Diego
Sea World is a huge marine animal and wildlife park in the city of San Diego. If you would like a unique experience, I recommend the dolphin interaction ($215)- Sea World gives you a wetsuit and you can get into the water and play with the dolphins! Don’t worry, a trainer is with you at all times to instruct you in how to communicate and respond. If that’s a little out of your budget, you can sign up for the dolphin encounter ($60). For the encounter, you get to go ‘backstage’ and pet, feed and learn some basic commands to communicate with the dolphins- but you don’t get into the water with them. If dolphins aren’t your thing, you can also sign up for a penguin encounter, beluga whale encounter or a private behind the scenes tour of Sea World. Tip: You will need to sign up for the dolphin interaction in advance. You can sign up for the dolphin encounter on the same day you arrive at Sea World, but spaces do fill fast.
