Wandering through the cobblestoned streets of the historic old town is a must in Santa Cruz. Many of the photogenic colonial buildings famously feature ancient wooden balconies draped with flowers, greenery and vines; you’ll also see Moorish tile work. Stop and explore the churches, museums, boutiques, cafés and restaurants. Keep in mind that many shops close down for afternoon siesta, so plan your day accordingly.
