You can decide how ambitious you want to be before you begin your ascent of Mt. Pleasant—Bequia’s highest point, located on the western side of the island—as there’s both a moderate hiking trail, which starts near the harbor, and a road that climb to the 269-meter-high (881-foot) summit. The reward, happily, is the same whichever route you choose: wonderful views of Admiralty Bay and across the sparkling seas to the southern Grenadines. Pack plenty of water, and don’t forget sun protection. Once you’ve arrived at the top, you’ll revel in the scenery of this magical speck of an island in the vast Caribbean.
