Once upon a time, a favorite neighborhood haunt goes dark. Several years later, along comes David Lahner, with a string of stellar restaurants behind him (Racines, Caffè Stern and Vivant), to turn a spotlight on the neglected space, and chase away the ghosts to bring the local cantine back to life. Slipping down the quiet cobbled street to the miniscule restaurant, one feels transported to a black & white photo of bygone Paris, but the food served here is anything but old school. Chef Mathieu Techer adds a poetic touch of to the neo-bistrot tradition, dazzling locals who come for the memories and return for a cuisine that features a short seasonal menu.
