Dining on Laucala Island
Laucala Island is a private resort with five restaurants, which makes it one of the best places to eat in Fiji, and 25 villas, surrounded by lush rain forests, the whitest beaches, and green cliffs. There’s fine dining in Plantation House, a replica of a colonial mansion, a beach bar for casual barbecues, the Rock Lounge above Seagrass Bay, plus more choices from Mediterranean to Asian fusion. Or dine privately, and order whatever you want to be served wherever you want, from the middle of the jungle to a jetty.
Laucala Island Resort
On a private island, this ultra-luxurious resort offers plenty of privacy, but from a photography perspective what can’t be missed is the transparent infinity pool that makes for a stunning Instagram shot. The property often hosts celebs, including Oprah, who has stayed in one of the villas you can see out on the tip of the island.
Luxury on Laucala Island
Laucala Island Resort’s Hilltop Estate is the most luxurious lodging on this very luxurious private island, once owned by Malcolm Forbes.
Most amazing food in Fiji
Laucala Island resort has the most amazing food I tasted in Fiji, like the “butler’s tray” at breakfast. There are five different dining venues, all overseen by a remarkable French chef. Many of the ingredients are grown right on the island, including fruits, vegetables and even Wagyu beef.
Golfing in paradise
The Lucala Island resort’s 18-hole private golf course was designed by David McLay-Kidd. I don’t even play golf, but the setting made me want to try!
Laucala Island sunset
Laucala Island Resort has private yoga platforms on the beach, so you can salute the sunrise.
