When Henry B. Plant built the Tampa Bay Hotel in 1891, it was an opulent property with the very latest amenities, including electricity and telephones in all the rooms. The palatial hotel welcomed guests until 1932 when it became a museum. Today, this National Historic Landmark is home to the University of Tampa. Visitors can explore the museum to learn about Tampa’s past and to see the array of furnishings that Plant collected from around the world.
