One of the last grand palazzos to be built on the Grand Canal, the Grassi Palace is currently owned by French entrepreneur Francois Pinault and his collection of contemporary art can be seen here on a rotating basis. It is also where his son renewed his marriage vows to film star Salma Hayek. Come for a visit if you love art and architecture—the palazzo, with its “academic” exterior, is unusual in neo-Gothic Venice, while the 600-seat open air theater is also a draw.
