Housed in a Victorian home in the center of town, Explore Booksellers is an Aspen institution. Inside, books on business, history, art, travel, and more are crammed into every corner, with an entire room dedicated to children’s literature. The shop also stocks numerous regional titles as well as cards, journals, and gifts and regularly hosts events with local and visiting authors. When you’ve finished shopping, grab lunch on the second floor, where Pyramid Bistro serves healthy, veggie-forward fare.

Lose Yourself in the Shelves of Explore Booksellers
Explore Bookseller is a quaint little book store in the cutest Victorian house off of Main Street. Pyramid Bistro is upstairs so you can always grab a bite to eat after finding the perfect book. Although it is not very large, every time I go I seem to lose track of time and hours pass by as I am looking through all the possible reading options. There is something very beautiful about buying a book from a store rather than online. Each room holds a different subject matter like non-fiction, fiction, mystery, health, etc. My favorite is the Children’s room. It is very powerful to see all the books in that room that will stir up the imagination of children and start them on a journey of exploration. It is a very special place that I recommend visiting. They have many books about the history of Aspen that make great gifts and souvenirs.
