Conch is as ubiquitous on Turks and Caicos restaurant menus as palm trees on the beaches, and at Da Conch Shack, you’ll find it prepared any way you can imagine. Of course, there are the classic dishes of conch fritters, conch chowder, and conch salad, but you’ll also find entrées such as curried conch and conch creole. The breezy beachfront restaurant on Provo also serves fresh catch, local lobster, and non-seafood items like steaks and burgers.

The Ultimate Island Snack at Da Conch Shack
If there’s one place to go to while you’re in the Turks and Caicos, it is the bohemian seaside eatery Da Conch Shack. Not only do they serve the famous conch, but their jerk chicken and rice has just enough kick! It really is some of the best jerk chicken I’ve had outside of Jamaica. The view of the ocean of varying blues doesn’t hurt either. A true island experience!
Da Conch Shack
It is hard to resist Da Conch Shack, while chilling around Grace Bay Beach. Yes it is a bit on the touristy side, but if you love these mollusks served every possible way, then you won’t want to miss this local favorite watering hole. Here you can order conch salad, conch fritters, conch chowder, and so on and so forth. Plus the servers will literally talk a conch right out of your ear—like the conch whisperer in this photo snapped by my colleague Lisa Loverro depicts—even if you never thought one was lodged there. Honestly, it’s a Provo institution, so it really shouldn’t be missed.
