If you’re looking for a local’s recommendation in Old Town San Juan, Café El Punto is it. The restaurant is often frequented by the owner of Olé Hats next door, who said it was ‘the only place to eat here’. He had walked me over after I bought a hat there, just to make sure I got a good table.
Café El Punto is a locals place, and that’s who they have been catering to since 1992. The food served is traditional, ‘just the way our grandmothers made it’. I ordered an avocado stuffed with ceviche, and, last day in paradise, paired with a (rather potent) mojito – the perfect way to say good-bye to my short adventure in Puerto Rico.
A heartfelt thank you to Discover Puerto Rico (@DiscoverPuertoRico) for 3 days in beautiful Vieques and a fun stop-over in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
