Just off the far end of Rainbow Street, the ever-popular Books@Café was an early pioneer of coffee shop culture in Amman. Come here during the day for a light lunch and city views, surrounded by bright murals and comfy sofas (the tables will be taken by people working on laptops). In the evening, the bar is open and the music is louder, but the global-style food is just as good, ranging from halloumi wraps and kebab skewers to falafel flatbreads, shrimp pasta with pesto, and poached fish in tahini sauce. Fast, friendly service and a lively atmosphere mean the place is packed every night of the week.
