Ash comes with a serious pedigree, as chef-owner Ash Heeger has worked at award-winning restaurants like Test Kitchen and La Colombe. Being a partnership with Publik Wine Bar and Frankie Fenner Meat Merchants – whose former butchery premises in a basement on trendy Church Street downtown Ash has transformed into a moody darkly inviting space—there will be plenty of good wine and a good selection of meat (though there are non-meat choices too), and the one-page menu focuses mostly on charcoal cooking. The restaurant went through a rehab and got a new menu in mid-2017. Open for lunch and dinner.
