With dark walls, natural wood accents, and red curtains in front of the elevators, the trend-setting Andaz hotel feels like more of a scene than any other property in downtown Napa. In the center of downtown Napa, the hotel is mere steps from restaurants, shops, and arguably Napa’s best pub: the Norman Rose Tavern. On check-in, all guests over 21 receive a complimentary glass of red or white wine. The swanky vibe continues into the 141 guest rooms, where hardwood hickory floors complement white marble bathrooms and midcentury modern furniture. The most convivial space in the hotel is the Mercantile Terrace, a second-story roof deck with a full bar menu and fire pits, a favorite of couples and business travelers alike. The lounge is operated by Mercantile Social, the restaurant in the lobby that serves small-plate food items and cocktails; it also books live acoustic music sets a few nights a week. (And Mercantile Social sponsors free wine tastings daily.) If you haven’t had enough wine, fear not—on site are two tasting rooms from the wine empire built by Napa native John Anthony Truchard: John Anthony and JaM Cellars.

Music Meets Art in Wine Country
When the hip Andaz hotel chain opened in downtown Napa in 2012 it brought a youthful energy to wine country. In addition to its affordable rooms and excellent locavore-minded small plates restaurant, Farmer’s Table, the Andaz also gives guests a dose of culture. The brand’s Andaz Salon program introduces art, photography, music, and readings throughout its different properties. Currently on display at Andaz Napa’s Mercantile Social bar are images of iconic rockers such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Bob Dylan. The photographs are part of an exhibit of works by former Rolling Stone chief photographer Baron Wolman and will be on display through June 2013. Guests should also ask about the hotel’s insider itineraries which include the best picnic spots and wineries that offer free tastings.
Andaz Napa Rises From the Quake in Time for Spring
All of you Andaz lovers, it’s time to rejoice. After closure to repair damages sustained during the America Canyon earthquake last August, Andaz Napa is ready to welcome guests. I am really overjoyed! This little gem of a hotel in the Hyatt portfolio is located in the heart of Napa town and has 141 guestrooms. Yes the Andaz Farmers Table signature restaurant is open! The Mercantile Social Bar a fave spot for a glass of wine or a whiskey, the meeting and event spaces and outdoor terrace with fire pits, are all renovated and restored. If you have ever spent some time in Napa you know that the Napa community is incredibly supportive of each other. It really is wonderful that Andaz Napa will be ready for the arrival of Spring, a beautiful time of year in Napa.
Luxurious Place to Stay in Napa
The Andaz Napa is a great home base for a Napa Valley trip. Located right downtown, in walking distance to places like Oxbow, the Napa Valley Opera House, and a bevy of delicious restaurants (Oenotri is right across the street.) Super-comfy beds, large rooms, and luxurious bathrooms make it hard to leave. In fact, you might not even be able to leave the massive bathtub.
