Next spring, fans of the Ace Hotel New Orleans will have one more reason to return to the Crescent City. Atelier Ace, the studio behind the rapidly expanding hotel group, recently announced plans to open Maison de la Luz, the second property in its luxury spin-off brand, in spring 2019.
Atelier Ace partnered with Pamela Shamshiri of L.A.-based Studio Shamshiri to design what it’s described as a “distinctive new guest house” featuring colorful marble floors, French wallpaper, a curated concierge service, and a library bar just for guests.
While the new 67-room property will open at 546 Carondelet Street, just across the street from the Ace Hotel New Orleans in the Central Business District, Maison de la Luz will offer a more private and elevated experience, “allowing guests to seek refuge in a resplendent and private space,” Kelly Sawdon, chief brand officer of Atelier Ace, said in a statement released by the hotel group.
However, if they wish to go out and experience a livelier version of the city, the Ace Hotel, which regularly invites the public in through public art activations and a living room–like lobby environment, is just a few steps away.
Maison de la Luz will be the second nonbranded Ace property from Atelier Ace. The first one will be called Sister City and will open fall 2018 on New York’s Lower East Side near the New Museum.
Maison de la Luz opens spring 2019 and rates will start at $389 per night.
