Virginia Brown

Virginia Brown is a freelance writer, journalist, and editor whose recent work appears in The Washington Post, AFAR, Southern Living, AAA Traveler, Our State, Columbus Monthly, Silicon Valley Business Journal, and many others.

She holds a B.A. in communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School.

On assignment, Virginia has flown in a helicopter over St. Lucia, interviewed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, swum alongside sea turtles in protected waters, and shared the stories of countless inspiring artists and entrepreneurs.

A former communications director at a large performing arts nonprofit, she also guides businesses on editorial strategy and content creation. She is a regular contributor to Best Western International’s Travel Zone site.

Virginia is originally from Charlotte, N.C., has lived in Chicago and London, and is based in Little Rock, Ark.
